We are following CDC guidelines when it comes to COVID-19 management.  As this pandemic changes, so does the guidance.  Masks are not required but each individual may choose to wear them. Please be respectful to their choices.  We all must work together in order to ensure a safe environment for all, and for us to have a successful season.

What to do if you have symptoms:

If you have COVID-like symptoms, do not come to practice or a game.  Symptoms may include fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea or vomiting.  Seek testing right away.

The CDC is shortening the recommended time for isolation for people with COVID-19 from 10 days to 5 days, if asymptomatic, followed by 5 days of wearing a mask when around others. Therefore, people who test positive should isolate for 5 days and, if asymptomatic at that time, they may discontinue isolation and continue to mask to minimize the risk of infecting others.

Additionally, the CDC is updating the recommended quarantine period for those exposed to COVID-19. For people who are unvaccinated or are more than six months out from their second Pfizer or Moderna dose (or more than 2 months after the J&J vaccine) and not yet boosted, CDC now recommends quarantine for 5 days followed by strict mask use for an additional 5 days.

Isolation relates to behavior after a confirmed infection. Quarantine refers to the time following exposure to the virus or close contact with someone known to have COVID-19.

Return to Play:

Positive for COVID-19

If you test positive for COVID, you are required to report the illness to your coach and league director as soon as possible, so contact tracing can be completed timely.  Teams in the same facility at the same time will be notified of positive cases.  Names will not be shared.

You must isolate for 5 days after symptoms first appear and you cannot return to play until your isolation period is complete, symptom free.

Other Recommendations:

COVID-19 Close Contact Guidance for Fully Vaccinated

Someone who has been fully vaccinated and shows no symptoms of COVID-19 does not need to quarantine. However, fully vaccinated close contacts should:

  • Wear a mask indoors per our policy.
  • Get tested 5-7 days after close contact (within 6 feet of someone for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period) with someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19.
  • Get tested and isolate immediately if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

COVID-19 Close Contact Guidance for Unvaccinated

For unvaccinated, Quarantine if you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.

  • Stay home for 5 days after your last contact with a person who has COVID-19.
  • Watch for fever (100.4◦F), cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.
  • If possible, stay away from people you live with, especially people who are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19.
  • Wear a mask indoors per our policy.
